A well established retail company is looking for a Regional Category Administrator for Tools and Automotive.
Mission of the position:
Lead the purchasing team of El Salvador, Guatemala and Costa Rica in the selection and evaluation of suppliers that provide additional benefits for the warehouse at regional level; in addition, to study the negotiations of list prices and logistic conditions of each supplier. Define the regional commercial strategy for its categories. Ensure assortment innovation according to market research and own demand together with the purchasing teams of each country. Evaluate new product exclusivities per country. Introduce seasonal and temporary products of their respective category per country.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regional visits to branches in conjunction with the purchasing team in each country to perform assortment assessment and study market trends.
- Develop a strategic planning of the lines owned in their respective categories and present it to each country's purchasing team.
- Plan, organize, coordinate and negotiate the purchase of new products by evaluating local and foreign suppliers.
- Evaluate new product proposals made by the purchasing teams in each country.
- Analyze relevant information to identify seasonal demand anticipations, emergencies, market trends, consumer purchasing trends, etc.; in order to identify and define new product proposals considered seasonal and temporary to boost and improve the indicators of their categories.
- Define the product mix (breadth and depth) for each assigned category.
- Coordinate in conjunction with the pricing team the pricing allocation of new products and the strategy in their respective category.
- Ensure the presentation, development and quality of OEM brands.
- Provide monthly follow-up to the objectives and indicators of each country's purchasing team, and define strategies to improve their positioning.
- Decide on items to be eliminated, added, retained or promoted (together with the country purchasing team) in each of the categories.
- Coordinate together with suppliers at regional level, actions to improve the positioning of the assigned categories, so that strategic alliances are established to help improve profitability levels.
Requisitos
Requirements:
- Industrial engineering, business administration or related careers.
- Advanced English (Required)
- MBA, economics or logistics (Desirable)
- Microsoft Office (Advanced)
- 5 + years of experience Purchasing Manager, regional buyer, head of purchasing business unit or demand planning in retail industry.
- Competencies: leadership, proactivity, teamwork.
